Oh jeez. That song brings back some memories, love it! Glad you know what helps keep a stiff upper lip. Sometimes i'm not so sure myself. :/ Hope things are going better Meg, keep on chasing your dreams! Honestly, you and your sis inspire me to chase mine.Keep up the awesomeness :) -Thomas
Three simple things from me:(1) When I bought "Something Real", I knew there was something amazing about the Meg & Dia band. There is so much honesty in your music, voices, and lyrics - totally refreshing.(2) I have a colleague based out of London whose favorite book is Daphne du Maurier's "Rebecca". I had her listen to your song "Rebecca" and she found it incredibly beautiful.(3) Your last blog contains one of the best, most fitting, and most perfect paragraphs I have ever seen:"You know, I just feel like so many of us settle in our lives. We get lost and decide because maybe we feel like we are running out of time, "O.k. well I guess this it. This is good enough", but it shouldn't just stop there. Don't be lazy. Every day could and should be incredible and just like you had always dreamed of designing your life and your days!"Mind if I print that out and paste it on my cubicle wall to remind me that I need to escape? :-)Please keep that creative and artistic mind of yours chugging along. You're an inspiration for the rest of us.-Jeff
I'm glad you made a short post. I knew something was wrong, because you haven't said much for days! However you could simply be prepping for this months special, but I wouldn' believe if you told me that was all. You probably have a lot on your mind Meg especially with everything going on lately and the lack of musical or written outlet. Well none the (internet) world has been able to listen to or read yet. I hope you're okay or hope you'll feel better soon! P.S. Have you seen a movie called August Rush?
Well, since you've shared with us the things that keep your head up, I'll share with you something that never ceases to make me smile. I believe it's done the same with others too. There's an amazing song called "Something Beautiful" by Great Big Sea. They're a Canadian folk-rock band, and I have a feeling you might like it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO3qILwdkBo
I knew this song, but had no idea the name of it or who it was by, so thanks for sharing. But anywho, keep that head up, Meg! You and your band inspire people like us every day. I hope that in knowing that, it'll help you with whatever you're going through, now and whenever. I've personally had a really bad past 24 hours, and reading your blog today--even if it's just a tiny blog with a couple mentions of what keeps your head up--has brought my own head up a little bit. Corny, but true. Thanks, Meg.
It's a rare creature who is cheered by Bukowski (me too).
